This is the eleventh conference in what is now the
largest (and friendliest) annual conference on international trade in
the world.
ETSG 2009
is
being hosted by the
Faculty of
Economics
of the
University
of Rome "Tor
Vergata". Please
give a look at their
webpage for more information on the venue.
Prize for best paper on Heterogeneous Firms and Trade Policy
We are very pleased to announce that the
Chair Jacquemin of
the Université
Catholique de Louvain
(Belgium) will award a prize also at the ETSG 2009 in Rome.
This year the prize will be for the best paper in the domain
of "Heterogeneous Firms and Trade Policy". This prize amounts to 1000€.
All full papers (submitted by the deadline of 14
August to etsg09_UCL@uclouvain.be) dealing with issues regarding trade
policies and heterogenous firms will be considered for the prize. The prize
will be presented during the ETSG Conference by Professor Hylke
Vandenbussche.
Prize awarded by the WTO
We are very pleased to announce that the WTO will also award a
prize at the ETSG 2009 in Rome. More details are available
from the
WTO website.
Brixen Workshop in International Trade and Finance
The first edition of the Brixen Workshop on International
Trade and Finance will be held in Bressanone/Brixen right
after the ETSG conference. More details are available
here.
Presentation Facilities
All of the rooms being used for sessions are equipped with overhead
projectors and data projectors connected to personal
computers.
Powerpoint and Acrobat software will be installed on all machines. If
you wish to use a data projector, please bring your presentation on a
USB memory stick or CD-ROM. Files can be loaded onto the computers
during the breaks. Due to time pressure within sessions, it will not be
possible to connect your own laptop to the projectors.
Registration
Please remember that all participants, regardless of whether
they present papers, will be required to pay a fee for registration in Rome. This has been set at €60. We apologize but we had to increase the fee by €10 with
respect to what previously announced. This is an emergency measure in order to
cope with an ever-larger conference. Still, notice that this is only a fraction of the per capita cost, but will help
in keeping ETSG conferences viable.
The conference fee can be paid at the conference venue
by cash (please be aware that credit cards are not accepted and that
there is no cash machine at the conference venue) or it can be paid in advance
by money transfer. The bank account is:
Fondazione Manlio Masi

Bank: Monte Paschi di Siena, via Liszt, 21 – 00144
