Conference Information

This is the twenty-fifth conference in what is now the largest (and friendliest) annual conference on international trade in the world. The conference is open to any contribution (theoretical and/or empirical) on any issue related to international trade theory and policy.

ETSG2024 is hosted by the Athens University of Economics & Business in Athens (Greece). Detailed local information (e.g., location, transportation, hotels, visa requirements) will be available through the ETSG website in due time.

Prize awarded by the Review of World Economics

We are very pleased to announce that the Review of World Economics (RoWE) will award the ninth annual prize for young economists at ETSG 2024 Athens. The select paper will receive €1,000 and the possibility to the published in RoWE. Only papers presented at the ETSG 2024 conference (co-)authored by young economists (i.e., within 2 year of PhD completion) will be eligible. Authors of accepted papers will be informed of the procedure to submit their paper for consideration. Previous winners are listed on the Award Winners page.

Prize awarded by the World Trade Organization

We are very pleased to announce that the WTO will award the sixteenth annual WTO Essay Award for Young Economists at ETSG 2024 Athens. The deadline for submission is 3 June and further details are available here. Previous winners are listed on the the Award Winners page.

Presentation facilities

All of the rooms are equipped with beamers and personal computers/laptops. Powerpoint and Acrobat software will be installed on all machines. If you wish to use a beamer, please bring your presentation on a flash drive. Files can be loaded onto the computers during breaks. Due to time constraints within sessions, it will not be possible to connect your own laptop to the beamers.

Conference schedule

This year’s conference will begin just after lunchtime on Thursday 12 September and will end late in the afternoon on Saturday 14 September, 2024. Please plan on attending the entire conference.

Registration

Each participant can present a maximum of 1 paper. All participants, regardless of whether they present papers, will be required to pay a fee for attending the conference. This has been set at €100. Notice that this is only a fraction of the per capita cost, but will help in keeping ETSG conferences viable. Failure to register before the deadline implies that your paper will be dropped from the programme. Refunds and discounts are not available.

Important dates

April 5: Conference submissions due. The submission portal is closed.

June 28: Successful authors will be notified. A list of accepted papers will be published online.

July 28: Deadline for conference registration and submission of full paper. A link to the registration, payment and paper upload forms will be provided in due time.
